Lesson 2 Questions

Do I need to take Lesson 1 first?

Yes, you do need to take Lesson 1 before taking Lesson 2, as it's designed to build on the basics introduced in Lesson 1. It can also work well as a refresher if you already know the fundamentals.

How soon should I take Lesson 2 after Lesson 1?

For the best success, we recommend taking Lesson 2 within about one week of Lesson 1 while the basics are still fresh.

Is Lesson 2 good for a refresher?

Yes. If you’ve learned Mahjong before but want more confidence with the NMJL card, game flow, or hand selection, Lesson 2 can be a great refresher.

Will I be ready for Open Play after Lesson 2?

Lesson 2 is designed to help you feel much more confident playing with others. Once you’re comfortable with the basics and game flow, Open Play is a great next step.
